I have always had a deep appreciation of and love for nature and wildlife and I truly believe that our natural environment provides us with such a wealth of miraculous ingredients, of which we have only discovered a fragment so far.
It is awe-inspiring and magical!
During my doctoral studies in the environmental field, I gained a deep knowledge of environmental psychology, management and environmental health impacts. My interest in both health and sustainability issues in the skincare industry got sparked! Many regulatory shortcomings still exist in this market and consumer health and safety are often not prioritized, while impacts on the environment are substantial.
I embarked on a journey to develop a new and exceptional skincare experience. An experience, where skin health is combined with a touch of wonder, having the mission to reconnect you with nature and helping you to find some magic in your daily routines, all while minimizing the impact on our beautiful planet.
At Raconteuse Skincare, we ensure that only the best organic ingredients are used, resulting in beautiful glowing skin.

Hi and welcome to my skincare wonderland! I am so happy you decided to stop by!
Growing up in South Africa, Japan and Germany, I have always had a deep appreciation of and love for nature and wildlife. I truly believe that our natural environment provides us with such a wealth of miraculous ingredients, of which we have only discovered a fragment so far. It truly is awe-inspiring and magical!
I decided to pursue my dedication to the environment during my Masters and doctoral studies, where I obtained a PhD in Environmental Science, Policy and Management. During this time I dove deep into the cultural implications of wasteful behaviour, while also concentrating on environmental psychology and management. This knowledge, combined with some literature-based research on the environmental health impacts of nano-silver particles in beauty and personal hygiene products for my Master's dissertation, led to a deep dive into the world of skincare, which included completing an online diploma in organic skincare business. I discovered that there are still many issues in the regulation of the skincare market and that consumer health and safety is often not prioritized. And so, while the organic skincare market has grown in recent years, I feel that there is still an enormous need to expand in this area, making clean, safe and nature-based skincare the norm, rather than the niche.
Combining all these interests, I decided to embark on a two year journey to develop a new and exceptional skincare experience. An experience, where skin health is combined with a touch of wonder, having the mission to reconnect you with nature and helping you to find some magic in your daily routines, all while minimizing the impact on our beautiful planet.
